Like any good developer, I have my little personal projects that I use to help the open source market, or to learn a new technology…no matter the reason, I will list them here as they come and go.

Personal Projects

I always have little personal projects I want to try to execute. Sometimes it’s to help people, to donate to the open source for people to use. At other times I use it to learn something new in a productive way. Or, I just have a weird idea I want to see work.

My projects come and go, some stick around a while, some fall by the wayside as I get distracted by life, or a new project. Whatever the case is, as they are ready for public consumption, or I believe people might find them interesting, I will post them here.

Currently the project I work on when time permits are these:

  • Formmailer Form Processor – a long time project of mine for open source use. a PHP form processing script. The current release has some issues with newer PHP versions. The new version is under development now.
  • Anti-Spam Forms Without CAPTCHA – I hate CAPTCHA, I dislike the impact on users so I have had a year+ project going testing different methods of spam filtering that does not impact the end user, and thus far, it’s been quite successful!
  • As stated above, V5 of Formmailer Form Processor is under development now, close to release worthy. Fully compatible with PHP 7 and 8.

Past projects have include open source content management systems, message forum scripts and much more. Some have outlasted their need, or been over-run by others doing the same thing. There have been a couple that I either lost interest in or was proven to not be valuable or needed. But, we keep moving on.
